Identity of OpenLab P.E.V.

The Open Technologies Laboratory of the Regional Unit of Boeotia (OpenLab P.E.V.) is supported by the Regional Unit of Boeotia, the Directorate of Secondary Education of Boeotia, and EELLAK. – (GFOSS). Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS)  is a non-profit organization founded in 2008, 37 Universities and Research Centers are shareholders of GFOSS.   Our main goal is to promote Openness through the use and the development of Open Standards and Open Technologies in EducationPublic Administration and Business in Greece. We are platform for Open Standards, Free SoftwareOpen ContentOpen Data & Open Hardware in Greece. The major Greek Universities and Research Centers participate in GFOSS, while leading members of the Greek community of developers play a key role in the implementation of our policies.

The OpenLab of the Regional Unit of Boeotia (OpenLab P.E.V.) operates within the hosting infrastructure of the Regional Unit of Boeotia in its central building.The Directorate of Secondary Education of Boeotia is supporting it through the integration of the center into Erasmus KA2+ programs, teacher training, educational programs in schools of the region within educational trips from all over the region, etc. The above organizations are expected to implement dissemination and promotion actions aimed at informing the educational community about the planned educational activities, presenting innovative technologies and methods to local entrepreneurs, and generally connecting OpenLab P.E.V. with the local community.
