Learning programme

Activity 1: Getting to know each other, their schools, and their environment
Learning methods:After the welcoming by the board of directors, and visit the school, there will be ice breaking activities for students to get to know each other. An activity around the school and its gardens.
Learning outcomes:Students will develop an understanding of the school’s layout, its facilities, and its culture, allowing them to feel more comfortable and settled in the new setting. Through the ice-breaking activities, students will form new relationships, improve their communication skills, and foster a sense of belonging in the group.
Activity 2: Discovering Barcelona, cultural heritage and new times
Learning methods:Guided Exploration: A knowledgeable guide leads students through the Sagrada Familia, the Modernism landmarks, providing historical context and architectural insights, with  detailed explanations about each site. Visual Observation: Students observe architectural features, sculptures, and historical sites, helping them understand the design and significance of the buildings and neighbourhoods
Learning outcomes:Understanding of Modernism and Gothic Architecture: Participants will gain knowledge of the unique features of Modernism (through Antoni Gaudí’s work like the Sagrada Familia) and Gothic architecture (in the Gothic Quarter), including design principles, artistic movements, and historical context. Urban Exploration and Context: The tour of the Gothic Quarter offers a deeper understanding of the medieval city, helping participants recognize how ancient and modern elements coexist within Barcelona’s urban landscape.
Activity 3: Leonardo da Vinci’s domes Workshop
Learning methods:Visit and workshop at the Museum of Mathematics of Catalonia. “Leonardo Dome” is an interdisciplinary method of learning, creative, and immersive. this learning method emphasizes holistic, hands-on experiences, combining knowledge from diverse areas of study and encouraging creative thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.
Learning outcomes:It promotes Interdisciplinary Knowledge, since the student develops a broad understanding of various fields, merging subjects like art, science, technology, and mathematics. It also fosters Creative Problem-Solving focusing on creativity and exploration which foster innovative thinking and the ability to tackle complex, real-world problems. By engaging in a variety of subjects and methodologies, learners enhance their ability to Critical Thinking. And promotes collaboration: A “dome” might imply a collaborative, community-oriented learning environment where individuals share ideas and learn from one another.
Activity 4:  Urban Ecosystem, from living beings to artificial intelligence
Learning methods:The activity likely involves a hands-on or guided exploration of how urban ecosystems function, incorporating both natural and artificial elements. Visitors may engage with interactive displays or exhibits at the Torre Glòries observatory, which could involve both physical and digital learning tools.
Learning outcomes:Participants will gain an understanding of how both living organisms and artificial systems (such as AI, sensors, and technology) interact within a city environment. Through learning about urban ecosystems, participants will become more aware of the challenges cities face in maintaining environmental balance, such as pollution, biodiversity loss, and resource management.
Activity 5:  Technological 22@Tour
Learning methods:Students walk around the 22@Barcelona, the technology district in Barcelona It is an urban development project that has transformed the former industrial area of Poblenou into a space of urban and environmental quality, where activities related to knowledge and innovation are developed.
Learning outcomes:This activity promotes learning About Sustainable Development, since the 22@ district emphasizes environmental and sustainable design, as well as the technological innovation. By observing, students can learn about the use of technology and the features of a smart city.
